The founding inspiration for COHEF was rooted in witnessing Haitian children play sports without access to proper equipment. This experience prompted the organization’s first fundraising initiative led by JJ Lamothe, who since the ripe age of 12 years, had and continues to manage JJHoops4Haiti, which focused on acquiring basic necessities such as jerseys and shoes. Under his guidance, COHEF continues to support and empower Haitian youth through sports and community engagement.

The campaign was closely tied to spiritual support, emphasizing a holistic effort to uplift young athletes both physically and emotionally.

What started as a single outreach effort has since evolved into COHEF’s lasting commitment to service, continually striving to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
